Many people struggle to get a decent night’s sleep; it is recommended that we all get around eight hours of sleep per night. Having The Right Bedroom Environment
Obviously, the bed we sleep in is an important part of our sleep regime; create a restful bedroom where you feel comfortable, keep it cool, dark, and quiet unless you prefer it somewhat differently. Choose the right mattress for your bed and cover it with sheets, pillows and a duvet that make you feel comfortable. Changing them every week or ten days is also recommended as this will keep them feeling fresh. Have low-wattage bulbs in the bedroom, as limiting your exposure to light will help you drift off to sleep. Get Into a Sleep Routine
Having a proper sleep routine can eliminate many of the problems that can occur when we cannot sleep. Going to bed and waking up at the same time helps to maintain our body clock and will also make the process easier. Think about what you are doing during the evening prior to bedtime; avoid eating too much or consuming alcohol, caffeine, or nicotine. All three are stimulants and can cause insomnia. Getting Up in The Morning
Plan to get up at the same time every morning and do not be tempted by the snooze button; going back to sleep can send you back into REM sleep, and when you do then get up, you will feel even more drowsy than you did before.
